Confessions of a “Climate Refugee”.

Have you ever experienced that moment when you say that you come from Barcelona, and people look at you in amazement, saying, "How can you live in Munich with the 'good weather' always in Barcelona?" Clearly, if you're not from Barcelona, this might not have happened to you, but trust me, it happens to me more often than it should.

People have this strange idea that "good weather" means sunshine all day, every day. But seriously, that's not at all what I consider "good weather." Let me share my story about the weather and why I think Munich is my ideal place.

First and foremost, the weather in Munich is like a variety show. Rainy days, sunny days – all in such balanced proportions that it seems like someone is working hard to maintain meteorological peace. In Barcelona, on the other hand, rain is a rare unicorn that hasn't been seen for over 30 months. Seriously? The drought is so extreme that soon watering garden plants will be prohibited.

I consider myself a "climate refugee" because, seriously, Munich offers me something more balanced. Yes, winters are cold, but nothing compared to the humidity that gets into your bones.

Oh, and let's not forget about the humidity in Barcelona. In winter, you freeze to the bone, and in summer, the heat is like a suffocating embrace that doesn't let go even at night. And sleep? Forget about it! Summer nights are an oven, and the air conditioning becomes your best friend. All summer long.

I consider myself a "climate refugee" because, seriously, Munich offers me something more balanced. Yes, winters are cold, but nothing compared to the humidity that gets into your bones. And rain, what can I say? In Munich, you can go outside when it's raining, and it's no big deal, unlike Barcelona, where rain (when it shows up) is like a biblical flood.

And summers in Munich, oh, summers! Heat, yes, but with vegetation overflowing with freshness. No beach, it's true, but there are incredible public pools, rivers, and huge lakes that are like "small seas." In Barcelona, it's all about the beach, but sometimes you need more than sand and sun, right?

Well, in the end, this is just my crappy opinion based, yes, on my experience living in both places. However, I know for a fact that there are people who need sun every single day of the year, and well, that's their problem!

Everyone's got their thing... Cheers!
